Where is the 585 area code?

The 585 area code covers rochester metro. Coverage includes Rochester, Brighton, Pittsford, Webster, Penfield. It is one of the local US area codes in the North American Numbering Plan.

How many 585 numbers do you have for sale?

Currently 190 585 numbers, each one a one-of-one local US line that has never been actively used. New numbers are added as the catalog rotates; sold numbers are removed permanently.

Do I have to switch carriers to use a 585 number?

No. The 585 number transfers onto whatever line you already pay for — AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Google Voice, Visible, or any major US carrier. The transfer is a port-in onto your existing account; you do not change your bill, your plan or your handset.

Are there ongoing fees on a Digit Exclusive 585 number?

No. Each number is a single one-time purchase. After you receive the transfer kit and port it to your carrier, the only ongoing cost is whatever your carrier already charges you for that line. There is no Digit Exclusive monthly fee, subscription, or vanity-number rental — buy once, own permanently.

How long does the port take?

Typical 585 port-ins complete in 24–48 hours after you submit the transfer kit to your destination carrier. Wireline ports sometimes take 3–5 business days; the timing is controlled by the carrier, not by Digit Exclusive.

Where is the 585 area code located?

The 585 area code serves Rochester, NY. All 585 numbers listed in this collection are genuine NANP-assigned numbers in that region. After port-in completes, the number registers as a 585 number on your destination carrier's network.

Can I get a 585 number on any US carrier?

Yes. Once you purchase a 585 number from this collection, you can port it to AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Mint Mobile, US Mobile, Cricket Wireless, Google Fi, Visible, Boost Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile, Google Voice, RingCentral, Twilio, Grasshopper, OpenPhone, Dialpad, 8x8, or any other LNP-compliant US carrier. Your carrier handles the actual port. We provide the transfer kit (account number, port-out PIN where applicable, originating carrier identity, step-by-step submission instructions) within 1-3 business days of purchase.

How long does a 585 port-in take?

Typical timing: wireless-to-wireless ports complete in 24-48 business hours; wireline-to-wireless or wireline-to-wireline ports take 3-5 business days. Your destination carrier confirms cutover by SMS or email. From that moment forward, your 585 number is permanently yours on your carrier. Federal Communications Commission §52 LNP rules require carriers to complete valid port requests — Digit Exclusive cannot make the cutover happen faster, but the transfer kit we send ensures your carrier has everything needed to submit the request right the first time.

How much do 585 numbers cost?

585 numbers in this collection range from $250 (entry-tier patterns) to several thousand dollars (premium patterns, iconic combinations). You pay once — there is no subscription, no recurring fee, no monthly charge from Digit Exclusive. The 585 number is yours permanently after port-in completes. Your destination carrier bills you separately for normal monthly phone service.

Will SMS, MMS, voicemail, and 911 work on my 585 number?

Yes. After port-in, your 585 number works exactly like any standard US number on your destination carrier: inbound and outbound voice calls, SMS, MMS, group messaging, voicemail, caller ID, RCS (where the carrier supports it), and 911 emergency calling. Two-factor authentication codes (banking, social, Google, Apple) deliver normally. Short-code messaging may take 24-72 hours to fully propagate across all registries after port-in, but resolves automatically.

Are 585 numbers one-of-one — can two people own the same one?

Each 585 number in this collection is one-of-one. After purchase, the number is permanently removed from the catalog and the entire site. We never resell, lease, share, or duplicate any number. After port-in completes, the number is yours alone under FCC LNP rules — no one else can claim it while it remains on your active line.
